Seen a fair few from up there. They can be caught all the way from Balcary in the east, to past Manxmans in the west. As for bait, they can take anything really, but I've seen crab be more successful.
I haven't seen any either, Although when ive been up there ive only fished behind the caravan site on the rocks and at torrs point.
Same here, but talking to some locals they told me there are Thornies all over but you just have to be lucky to drop on one. Problem is you put big baits out but the doggies whittle them down pretty quickly. Good luck 'though mate.
The best chance of a Thornie is inside Kircudbright bay anywhere from the lifeboat station to Torres point,on crab and Sandeel, theres also a decent chance of a Silver Fella ....

Left hand side of Kirkudbright Bay mate as you look out to sea, big rock sticks right out to sea. I gave it a good go around there last year with crab but just flounder and the inevitable doggies for me. Map of Torrs Point in Dumfries and Galloway
You park on the roadside next to that lake you can see on the map and walk around the path to the left side of it, up and over the hill then straight over to the sea. Can't miss it.
