  • Braid/floatfishing

Does anyone use Braid whilst float fishing, heard it will destroy your float and stop knot as it rubs along them ??
    Cheers Alan...

used braid when pike fishing ,using a float- don\'t see how it can destroy a float- simple set up - braid running through float, swivel beads wire trace etc

I have used braid for years on the boat and its class but so far not had any luck with it from the shore..i think its crap from the shore, i tried it for beach fishing, mackerel spinning and jigging.

Richy, I tried it last year for the first time spinning and I won\'t be going back to nylon. Also used it for fishing for flatties with the light gear and its brilliant - the bites are fantastic.

I wont go back to braid for spinning lol liek you said great bite detection but thats about the only advantage i can see really, i lost more fish with briad no matter how i set my drag and you dont have the spring in the line when lifting fish up the pier on a light rod.Beach fishing with briad was somethign i would never rerepeat, everytime a wave crashed on te beach so did the rod, also if you get something big you might as well kiss it good by because once the wave gets hold of your line the hook pulls out unless there arse hooked.

Everyone is dif but i hate the stuff from the shore but love the stuff from the boat.

p.s before anyone says it, a long nylon leader dont make a great deal of dif from the shore, i tried it on a few trips.

were you spinning/lure fishing from the beach or fishing on the bottom, heard bad reports about it if you were fishing on the bottom.

I have tried both and because there is not spring its a pain for both bottom and spinning fishing.
