blobs of jelly

Was up at Craster on Sunday. Mother-in-law rented a cottage there for a week so we went to see her. Walked to the castle and on to Embleton beach then south to Howick. Very frustrating seeing people fishing all over the place. Anyway, mother-in-law noticed some clear blobs of jelly on the surf line. I\'ve never noticed them before but they were everywhere. Anybody know what they were? Are they just disintegrated jellyfish? They were about 5p piece size or less and had no colour.
