  • Pointers for Sea Bass at cambois?

Heard there were a few sea bass and cod being caught off the hot pipe at cambois recently. Does anybody know what baits are fishing well at the min off here? Thinking about heading down at low tide on Saturday morning and fishing the tide back in. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

The hot pipe is no longer at cambois. There is a pipe on the beach but its called Glaxo pipe. Fish to the left hand side of it using lug/rag tipped off with raw prawn for the bass or crab for the codling. There will need to be a little surf on for either species. Better fished at night aswell. Its best fishing the tide in but after 4hrs of the flood the beach will be underwater so work your way left along the beach. There are lots of holes and gullies all along this stretch so have a low water reccy before you fish. One word of warning is dont fish if there has been a lot of rain, the freshwater coming down the wansbeck seems to put them off. If thats the case, fish the top end of the beach, behind the houses. Other species i have had from the beach include.... flounder, plaice, turbot, whiting and coalfish.
        Hope this helps, good luck.

Calm seas are better this time of year, if your after cod then rockends and heavy kelp are your best bet. Cambois beach fishes best for the codling from late september till december.

Last year when i fished there m8 i used daylights for an hour or so and did well with the bass then i changed to mackerel and lug worm as that generally does the buisness.
