Been googling and so far can't find any info. I remember it had quite a few repairs done around the early eighties because it had loads of holes in it. I heard it was storm damage but on a mission now to find the truth
I should be up there in the villiage over the next couple of weeks, someone must know.
I think it was storm damage in the 1920's, got a photo from 1910 when it had a massive hole in it about 50 yards back from the end but the end still intact. My dad remembers the end being like that in the thirties so that could narrow the dates down.
The broken off bit is only about 10ft at the end of the pier. And it looks like the foundations have gave way so its dropped a bit.
About a 3-4ft gap at the top between the main pier and the broken off bit, but its on an angle if that makes sense? Should have taken a picture of it as well.
First time Ive been just interested to know its history really.
