  • off to etive tomorrow

off to loch etive tomorrow planning on fishing through til friday morning. one of the few places within reasonable travelling distance i've never fished yet. weather looks spot on for the whole week so hopefully get some spurdogs and thornies, done my homework on the best marks to fish, just hope the fish want to come out to play. its all fish baits up there so taking plenty frozen macky, launce, blueys and a box of squid with me, although i should be able to catch fresh macky while up there. just roughing it in the car and bivvy to maximise fishing time, i'll not be able to sleep tonight, i'm like a kid waiting for xmas morning.

Its a Sea loch close to Oban in the west highlands,Fishing can be outstanding or outstandingly bad, most lads go up for the resident Spurdog and Thornback Rays, but theres also codling, pollock, lesser spotted dogs, whiting, poor cod, pouting, grey gurnard and a few more species, you mainly fish with fish baits with the most popular marks being the Quarry,Chapel or Windsock its over 150ft deep from the shore in parts around the Quarry, type in Etive in to the Search and you should get all the info you need ...
