All rods can and do snap if a cast is mistimed. Jay hits his rods harder than most on here will ever aspire to, thats why he is one of the countrys top casters. Technique + rhino power = distance!!

Only a couple of manufacturers rods are used on the tournament field for good reason, they are capable, well built and reliable.

You cannot buy distance with the latest must have rod. Its all about technique, timing, power and natural ability. One rod might suit you better than another though.

Even a £100 Ron Thompson will put a lead 250 yards in the hands of a top caster. A lot of anglers / casters would do well to get on the field and learn the basics correctly.

I agree with a lot of what you say m8, YOU CAN'T BUY YARDS but that will not stop the tackle tarts from rushing to buy them.

If its anything like the eliminator it'll be horrible. But as already said you get people buying them thinking they can chuck them when they can't. Putting videos of themselves doing meadiocre casts and supposedly ' bending ' them when infact their dreaming.

Me, I can put a bait far enough to catch fish in proper fishing situations, not standing on a field or on top of a hill with a gale of wind behind you and everything in your favour.

There's a stigma attached to these rods which very few people who buy them will live upto including me , FACT.

I think anyone who puts a bait over 150 is doing really well with standard gear in a fishing situation. They could it with nearly rod as well. Doesn't have to be a century poker stick.

i agree if your a tourny caster probs a top rod but for fishing and if you dont have the ability to use it to full potential its a waste of money imo
me and my two sons had a casting lesson of ark aka bob collins and its all about less effort and more technique and what a difference it makes and then its practice and more practice
we started sea fishing again last october my youngest son [seatroot on here] would take few steps then wack it used to do big ark land 30yards in front of him after his lesson with arc he vastly improved using otg cast but he practiced four times a week for an hour or so he can now pendulum cast as well good distance and with about third of the effort .but remember as soon as you add bait to rig it knocks off about 30% of your distance
you only get out of fishing what you put in ie practice your casting get it right and then think about better rods
any ways that just my opion
                    cheers pop65

ooooo everyones touchy about there gear aint they lol each to there own i am a zippie man myself doesnt mean there better or worse than any other rod makers but all i know is if you have the money to spend 400 + on a rod why not get one your not going to lose distance and if you gain some bonus if i had the money to buy a bentley i would but doesnt mean i would drive it 200 mph

I agree any one who has the cash to buy a to end rod can but they might not have the ability to use it to its full potential so would be better of buying a mid range rod with decent guides etc

dont no about around your way but do you really need a rod that'll cast a bait miles out. over our way 99% of fish are caught close in.

Its the bait that catches fish not the rod,you can have a rod worth a grand, but if you havent got the right bait you wont catch a thing, thats my thinking.
