  • Need a new rod - any recommendations

    Hi,

Blew up the reel seat on my rod today pumping a tiddler out through some kelp up at Newton

Looking for a new rod that will take my multiplier and be suitable for mixed fishing which includes rock ledge work into heavy ground beach work for flattys and general work off the piers.

    Budget around £150 ?

Been thinking either the sonik sk3 or the greys grx-s ?

Any others I should consider ?

    Cheers

My mate has a greys grx-s he's had it a while and had no problems it will be a good rod for the beach or river and should last a long time if it's looked after like most rods.
      Price around £100

Don't know what the kompressor ss are like but if its like the grand prix then it should be a great all rounder

The kompressor ss are the stiffest of them all but I use mine for piers and all other fishing and don't have a problem

                  New rod

Dont think either of the rods would be suitable for the type of fishing you do.With £150 you can pick up some bargains in the for sale section on here,if your not sure dont be frightened to ask for advice again, some good lads on here that you can rely on.

Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught

                      Thanks for the replies

Rod was a relative cheapy that I am going to return as it shouldn't have broke so quick so not worth fixing.

Would rather buy new but will have a browse of the for sale boards.

Anyone have any experience of the Anyfish anywhere bait & 6 ?

                          Little update:

Repaired the old rod with a new reel seat and 2 new duplon grips total cost £14.

Going to keep it for the rest of the summer.

Ordered a Sonik SK4 13'6" Multi for the winter
