  • Best time and tides for beachcasting South Shields?

Hi all, Is there any point surfcasting the beaches in South Shields during the day and if so whats the best time in relation to low or hide tides. I,ve had a look along the sands recently and although one or two were seen casting it didn't look like its that popular. Maybe there lies the answer? Your thoughts please

    beachcasting south shields

I fish the big beach quite regularly and its producing plenty of flounders and the odd small coalifish even in daylight to rag and mackeral - fishing better after dark I like fishing in the middle of the beach at high water it also fishes bottom of the water. I am led to believe the trow rocks end fishes well - all the best

I find the little haven beach fishes ok durning the day and I normally fish the last few hours of tide coming in and a couple hours after its turned it's mainly flounders this time of year but you never what will turn up I had 2 small plaice in the spring when we had that bit of nice weather, try to fish between the old pipe and the pier thats where I find most productive,
The little haven is the beach between the pier and the groin if your not familiar with shields, good luck,
