Lol - TC - what i meant was that the yorkshire lads always do well in the Shields open ,apart from last year when Terry Woods won ,i think the following two years were won by lads from down that area and going further back thier has been some good catches -

BUT back to the main point is there any Shields Club members on the board that confirm that the Bailifs are targeting the comp please - might have to leave my eater peelers in the freezer ,and slum it using fresh poppers LOL

Bri - what if you caught your eaters at, say, Eyemouth? Would it be illegal to use them at Shields then? Could always be a defence - no post codes on them are there.

Your right Dave (ta for the book by the way ) i dont know if you would get away with it though . bunch of spoilers if its true - they have been hasseling a bloke on our coast for undersize lobsters - i dont know him ,sless and tony.codling do -maybe they have heard something ?? - dont why i am fussed either way, i dont normally catch owt anyway ,usually get a canny bag the few days before the comp while pleasure fishing and after the comp - always the way though isnt it .

the bailiffs have every right to stop that man
          at boatys bay
one day last month he got caught with 29 undersize lobsters
then the next day the caught him with another undersize bag
his excuse was he left his measure in the cabin

they should throw the book at him
the new bailiff is a poacher come game keeper and knows all the tricks of the trade

          oh as for eater peelers
you cant get them where its legal and fish where its not
if you know what i mean

Dont know him Sless - but S`pose its a wee bit naughty getting collered twice in a week - what would happen if your (not you personally if you get my drift ) nabbed using Eater peeler in the Shields open - who would be liable - the Fisherman or the South Shields Club - is it classed as a \"private Comp \" as you have paid to fish it - strange one this - I wish the f**K i had gone to souter on my bike now and i would`nt have met them two blokes last night LOL

it was twice in 24 hours he was caught
yes my big stash of eater peelers will have to be well hidden
              on the 13th
the shields club cant be held responsible
as they dont provide the bait
              as some comps do

Simple answer. Dont use eater peelers.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,
but P*****g everyone off is a piece of cake.

bri.h i think you were talking to a couple of scare mongers is this a sea fishing competition for the biggest fish so why shoud any body who puts the time and effort in to get these be penalised by jealous fishermen. ill be using my velvets which i think are just as good. i bet in a few years time these will be barred too

simple answer, the bye law states the use of eddible crabs as bait in the Northumbria Sea Fisheries Commission area is banned. No matter where you get them from. This matter is being brought up with the commission because they have not told anglers and there is a great deal of confusion, but ignorance is no excuse in the eyes of the law.

its pretty hard to tell the difference between a velvet or a eater once theyve been frozen down and wrapped in cling film anyway anyone that wants to jump across the north arm can check my bait ( if its fishable)
