Spelling isn't important. Like someone says as long as you can understand the text. Nobody is perfect at spelling, and English is not the easiest language to get "to grips" with. Let's not forget this is a fishing forum: NOT a spelling test.
However, what does annoy me is when people use "chav text" eg : m8, cu, 2u etc etc.............NO NEED !

well done mate i have noticed a lot of so called men picking on your boys spelling and his posts.
There is no need for it.I have fished with my two sons since they were small be it sea fishing or trout fishing and we all still fish together and i would not let anyone bully them
tell steven to keep it going mate and hopefully bullies get thrown offf the forum
cheers pop65

Children use this site and there is no need for the swearing.
On there it is modded more then the norm and swearing etc is banned.
Just an idea to keep the new anglers who come on to learn safer shall we say and those who do not wish nor want to chat with them can stay away from that area.
As i say, just an ideaTHE PSYCHIC BIKER

first things first, well done for sticking up for your son, your'e well within your rights to do that, iv'e read a few posts on here of lad's having a pop at him re. spelling. Unfortunately in a text based only open forum anybody can type anything, it may be meant in jest, or they may just be brave as they are just another anonymous i.p address. If he wasn't 15 it may be a different story... In reading some of his posts though he doesn't always do himself any favor's,that said he is obviously a very keen angler, and probably spends a lot more time fishing than most people on this site, (me included lately) making his opinions as valid as anyone else's. Unlike a lot of today's youth he is aspiring to make the most of himself, which is commendable by anyone's standards.
personally i would name and shame anybody you felt was bullying your son.
Spelling wise, not quite sure what to say, to be brutally honest i'm surprised some of the lads can manage to log in to a computer, let alone type something, if their written english is anything to go on, but it isn't an adult learning site, it's a fishing site so it shouldn't make any difference. (scotty is a prime example, terrible at spelling, but he does a lot more fishing than most and by all accounts is a nice lad & very keen fisherman, so why should his spelling be picked on?). i find txt spk propa fcukng anoyn tho.innit m8 , imo, lol, rofl , blah blah , blah , blah, but that's the way the kids of today communicate , just shows how old the rest of us are really....
Most 11 & 12 year old's have a better grip of the english language than is displayed on many threads posted on here, which is fine, but a bit embarrassing when you think that people from all over the world can read this, and just think we are all thick geordies.......
That's the end of my pedantic post, time to go the garage and make some sinker's and ripper's just in case my brother ever get's his backside out of gear and we actually get our boat out this season...
pb. all and any spelling & grammatical errors in this text are intentional
