    hi. i was out with my camera this evening at low tide in cullercoats area. theres an old pipe leading out to sea just past the north pier. not sure what the area/mark is called just wondering if it worth a cast or two some time???? i noticed a lot of kelp and realise rotten bottoms are a must. any info would be much apreciated cheers guys
    2012 species: dogfish cod coalie mackeral launce pollock
    2013 species : cod dab coalfish flounder pouting granny fish Pollock mackerel launce eelpout sea bream wrasse

    you fish on the south side of the harbour on the rocks a good winter mark when their is a good sea running

      I would use a rotten bottom if I was fishing there mate

        Its a tackle graveyard !!!! Good fish to be had when there is a sea running in the winter. A word of caution - do not be tempted to fish off the end of the south pier at high water. A freak wave nearly took me off the end of it once.

          Fishing down the pipe used to be a popular shot off the beach in the old days when there was a massive sea on or there was too much wind to stand up anywhere else (or both).

            Ive fished it alot and dont think its as snaggy as people think a fast retrieve should see you fetch your gear back
            But as said good with a big sea running
