  • Seaham Hall Beach

Went last night just spur of the moment, being new I wasn't expecting much and wasn't surprised to catch nowt but all baits taken, had one noticable bite up until I went at 11pm and only saw 2 other fish landed. Is it always that quiet or did i hit the wrong tide/conditions?
    Cheers.

Frozen lug tipped with mackerel or squid, lug on it's own, whole/part squid, large mackerel strips elastic tied. Every bait eaten but not by fish.
      Cheers.

Been a few flats and colies lately, few small bass on some tides and none on others.Very quiet this time of year and most of the lads down there lately are just there to get out of the house and something to do.Crabs are very active down there and further you cast the quicker they strip your bait.Rag tipped with macky or bluey doing best at the mo.

Crabs very active everywhere atm. Did you try to downsize hooks? Can sometimes make a massive difference

No, just played around with the size of baits on different rigs (already made up)
              Cheers.

                  As mentioned..

Try dropping hook size to 1 or 2

Try with and without beads on a 2 hook flapper
