  • TOUCHED AND HUMBLED

Good job NESA hasn’t moved into using live, interactive webcams for posts yet (now there’s a thought…lol). I’m really choked by what I’ve been reading and am really bowled over by all your kind comments.

I’ve sat and read through all your comments and must admit, it was like being able to read my epitaph or hear my own eulogy – not many people can say that they know what people really think of them and I feel very humbled having been in that position.

Whilst ALL of your comments have touched me, I’ve got to admit that Jaybees’ post really did strike home. Especially considering the circumstances by which he left the site that he built, owned and ran for MANY years. Not only “built”, “owned” and “ran” but LOVED. I know there’s lots of new bods on NESA who don’t know of Jaybee and those “circumstances”, but believe me, knowing Jaybee, I REALLY appreciate him posting his comments on NESA.

Regarding those who have been wondering if I have left NESA completely…..NO WAY; that was NEVER on the cards. After so long on here, that would be like leaving home and family.

So, what’s the deal?………I’ve e-mailed Elton, informing him of my decision and asking if he can find somebody to take over before Christmas (as I have previously posted on the Board).
Should it turn out that there’s nobody wanting to come forward and take over, then, ok, I’ll continue to administer the Board.

I’ve got to agree with the suggestion of having more than 1 bod running the Board, though

I’m pretty well up on computers (well as far as photography and graphic design goes), but in general the workings of the ‘net are a mystery to me, to be honest.
As far as I’m concerned, “html” might aswell mean “help the mad looney”….lol. It would be of great value to the site have somebody on the admin side who knows what they’re talkin’ about when it comes to ‘net related problems and the like.

Whichever way things turn out, whether there’s somebody new at the helm, or if you’re stuck with me after Christmas, I really do believe that it needs more than just the one to run the Board to be able to take advantage of the full potential that NESA can achieve.

Thanks a lot for that, Mark

If Elton gets somebody to take over before Christmas (or somebody comes forward from the Board), I\'ll pass your kind offer of technical assistance on to them. If there\'s nobody comes forward and Elton doesn\'t get a replacement, then I\'ll be chuffed to have you helping out with the techie stuff.

            nee bother like!

I still think sharing the load on the admin front is a must to keep your sanity tho.

If nobody steps fully into the breach, perhaps someone to \'assist\' with a view to taking over at a later date might sound a bit more desirable to any potential candidates.

Just a question Tony, no pressure, IF 2 or 3 more people came forward to offer a helping hand would that affect your decision to stay or go ??

                Mark / Harry,

Sorry, my last post might have appeared a bit ambiguous, but I did say in the opening post,

\"Should it turn out that there’s nobody wanting to come forward and take over, then, ok, I’ll continue to administer the Board.........\"

Totally agree with having more bods looking after different aspects of NESA, and I\'ve mentioned that to Elton, too.

                  Tony,

I\'ll volunteer to look after the Barmaids Bosom!
                  Cheers, Keith.

I am just a plank when it comes to computers otherwise I would happily volunteer my services if that would help keep Tony at the helm. However, I know that many of you are very \"computer literate\" and if just one or two more could find a little spare time to give then this board will surely be \"by the people, for the people\". I\'m sure Tony would be glad of any offers of help, so come on you boffins !!!

If I could squeeze more hours into the day I would help out. If there is any thing that I can do then let me know...I know very little about computers (unless it is work related and you are trying to fiddle your leccy meter then I have gotcha) and even less about fishing, but if I can I will if I have the time.

                        LOL Keith....
The Barmaids bosom could be quite a handful, m8 :P (or even 2 hands) .

Seriously, though - thanks for the offers of help (I thinks Mark\'s already started on the \"techie\" side, by already providing a photo upload facility - not sure if it\'s workin\' yet - not really had time to try it out properly.

The upshot is........if people are happy for me to stay on doing what I\'m doing, then I will. If anybody wants to help out, whether it be on the technical side, organising events, or simply moderating a forum, let me know and I\'ll sort out the necessary access level for you. Thanks again for your support and putting up with my errmm, \"moments of self doubt\"

I\'ll have a go at the boat comps next year (Norman will probably as well i expect) on a more regular basis than this year i hope .

Glad to hear your gonna keep up the good work! I\'m sure you\'ll know by all the posts it\'s very much appreciated!
