. . . . . although I upgraded to a Century Eliminator E1000, and boy does it feel the better rod to cast/fish with! (in my own personal opinion having had both a Century TTR Big Danny and now having an Eliminator E1000)South Shields & District SAC

A fine choice! There are good rods available from most of the manufacturers and they all have their own characteristics - from Conoflex there is the Anubis Plus, Greys do the Apollo's, Zziplex do a few like the Zeteque and it's derivatives, and from Harrison there is my personal favourite the P3. You won't go far wrong with a TTR though. A TTLD for the rocks??....er....NO.
Those who say some of these rods are heavy obviously never had to grow up with dural-butted fibreglass monsters like the old DC6's/8's from Conoflex and the like......my TTR felt like a spinning rod compared to my old Pateke Morton SC6 from 1980!!
