Never a truer word said Nicky. Like you say for the rocks it is the one.

. . . . . although I upgraded to a Century Eliminator E1000, and boy does it feel the better rod to cast/fish with! (in my own personal opinion having had both a Century TTR Big Danny and now having an Eliminator E1000)

what a load of bollocks, these rods are by far the best for rough ground work on the market,oh and before anyone has a pop i use mine for estuary work as well.

                ttr

I have a ttr and it's great for rough ground abit heavy if you are standing with it in your hand. If you cast off the ground you can cast well over the 100yard mark with a over head thump. I use a penn 525 super mag with mine or a slosh 20 for the rough stuff.

A fine choice! There are good rods available from most of the manufacturers and they all have their own characteristics - from Conoflex there is the Anubis Plus, Greys do the Apollo's, Zziplex do a few like the Zeteque and it's derivatives, and from Harrison there is my personal favourite the P3. You won't go far wrong with a TTR though. A TTLD for the rocks??....er....NO.

Those who say some of these rods are heavy obviously never had to grow up with dural-butted fibreglass monsters like the old DC6's/8's from Conoflex and the like......my TTR felt like a spinning rod compared to my old Pateke Morton SC6 from 1980!!

dont know where you get your info from mate but a TTLD for the rough stuff no just no it will end up the same as your 7ht mag.The TTR is a pleasure to use admitted not for a novice angler.
                    Cheers Nicky

What rock marks do you fish like if you can get away with using a ttld and a 7ht mag

My preference is a AFAW Tornament Rock, but the best advice I could offer you is to buy a rod to suit your casting ability, ie; one you can compress. Contrary to popular belief you don't have to use a "poker"of a rod to fish heavy or kelpy ground.

i dont find my ttr too stiff and it bends into a fish. only used for the rough stuff though.

                              a lot more forgiving than a wr3000
