    Hello Peter,
    I'm sure that you'll manage with your rods but they would not be my choice, the spodding rods are very through actioned the ones I've tried are awfull.

    I much prefer light shore rods and bass rods that tend to have more action in the tip and stiffer butts. These even sit better in the rest and, in my opinion, are nicer to use.
    This of course is only my opinion.

    One thing I'm more than certain of though is the exagerated claims made by the carp lads, they are a long way out with the distances they claim.
    They should get onto the casting court insread of guessing overhead thumps over water.

      lol,not looking to argue about disstance ,im no great caster anyway,the spod rods ive got are new out and there more tippy than through action,anyone fancy a chuck with one i use them down the middens so more than welcome to give one a whack-

        Good luck Peter,
        You'll have fun with them I'm sure, I have an old Armalite carp rod that I used a lot for float fishing and heavy spinning.
        I had some good sessions with it but I hardly use it now, I use my spinning and bass rods instead.

            no probs mate.lol.its a 2 piece at the min.think you would turn it into a 3 piece-lol.its made to chuck 7oz spods so id want my money back if a 5oz lead snapped it,not made for pendulem casting i dont think.haha
