  • Double sided flounders, please read and help

    Hi all
could all of you please send this message to any anglers you know and put it on the message boards of all the web sites that you know around the country. Alison is desperate for information from other parts of the country to do a comparison. Cheers lads and lasses. You could alos pass on the new addrees of NESA http://www.nesa.co.uk many visitors do not know the site address has changed

Once again a student from Newcastle University is doing studies into double sided flounders.

After some very good studies done by other students Alison Lee is hopefully going to continue on with the good work. These double sided flounders during the last studies where found all around the coast line but mainly in the north east. They are still present around the Wansbeck area and information is needed to find out wether they are present in any other areas of the country. Anglers are requested to note down their flounder catches and state how many double sided flounders are present or other abnormalities two sets of eyes etc.
Send the info to Alison Lee at Alison.Lee@ncl.ac.uk or phone 07779 582086.
Any help would be very appreciated, if you need any further info you can contaact her direct at the above

Nine viewers since i posted this message, not a single reply please leave a message if you have done any thing, even just passed message onto another angler. this may galvanize others into doing something. These people are trying to help us, but to do so they need our help.

Passed the info on to a couple of local anglers Alan, whether they do anything with it is in the lap of the gods. I personally haven\'t had a double sided flounder since I used to fish at Arnside (Cumbria) many years ago.
If all about you are catching fish, cast in their swim !!!

it could be that nobody is catching any! and therefore have nothing to report

Just want to know if those who read the message are passing it on to others or to web sites. that was the sole purpose of the message

cheers Keith, have done that plus sent info onto a few others. Info coming in, in dribs and drabs, keep passing the info around the more sites it goes to the better the study.

I\'ve passed on reports to previous students over the years and gone through any follow-ups with their replacements too.. not been out much at all this year though, but i\'ll keep on letting them know and I\'ll pass the word around...
