I have found opposite the water outlet is often better on the tides either side of neaps opposed to the really big ones. If you are getting nothing close in do not be afraid to bash one out, I have taken bass at range there before the water is really not that deep and with a bit of roll on you can get them anywhere.

Ragworm takes most fish as schoolies but dont be afraid to try some crab or sandeel as I have taken my bigger fish on cocktails with rag + something at slightly more range.

Never had anything bigger than 3.5lb from there myself and even those are rare, I have heard of bigger from people who usually dont tell fishy tales but never witnessd it myself.

The way the sea is this week if it keeps a slight well at the weekend you should do ok, I might even be down myself overnight if the misses lets me out!

    Good luck.

unlike others, i prefer up to and over high tide.

My advice the same as stevenswales! dont take anything as gospel just try a little of this and that till you find what works for you.

if you are fishing the tide up and over high then have a look around the low water mark around the area the pile of rocks start to end, there is (or was a few weeks ago) a slight depression which should be in casting distance for a reasonable chuck at high tide. It is not much of a gully but I thought it was worth a chuck into with the incoming tide.

              good luck
