    gonna give the beach near northgare ago in hope of some bass this saturday any tips/hints will be appreciated

    tight lines
    species so far 2012cod bass flounder plaice dab colie weaver whitie rockling

    target for 2012

    cast short and only take ragworm. 2oz or 3oz plain lead.

    if you do try a long cast you will get nothing on it.

        i use a 2 hook flapper, size 1/0s. let me know how you get on.

              the left side i think mate but if theres nowt doin there i might go on the other side if its any good

                Never had much out of the r/hand side myself, but seen some decent
                fish come on the l/hand side fishing from the ledge as you first go on, as dabcatcher says 2 hook flappers and rag,

                  thanks lads but the part of the beach im planning on fishing is in line with a red boy thing left hand side whats this like

                    one of the best marks! its a water outlet. on a big low tide...chuck straight towards it just to the right of it you'll see a small wreck.

                    tbh, anywhere form the old swimming baths up over can fish well. ive never had anything bigger than 2lb, but in one session ive had 20+ schoolies when conditions are right.

                    one other thing, ive always used two rods - one lobbed out and one thrashed out...they both get fish

                            nah, thats a 'neap' tide.

                            anything from 0.0 to 0.5(ish) are big low tides
