  • quiet on Blyth Pier

having travelled up from London yesterday for a week staying in Bedlington with family, I hit Blyth pier today.

Float fished with mackie strips and ragworm, very quiet, NE winds blowing in.

No mackerel, only a few small Coalies when fishing close to the pier, by the bend.

fished 11-16:00 didn't see anything else caught, about a dozen people there.

Need some where else to try tomorrow, was thinking taking the artificials, and also float fishing some ragworm at Craster targetting some wrasse. What do you guys think?

I got half a dozen goalies from the gullies just north of Craster harbour yesterday.

Biggest maybe pushing 1 3/4 lb, five on gloat fished mackerel belly strips and one to a jelly worm which christened my new spinning rod and reel.

Got a wrasse and three mackerel this afternoon at the rock skiers at Scremerston

Going back to Scremerston tomorrow or maybe Beadnell, depending on the weather and the sea.
