I dont mean like there's a few bad worms in a bag but, this stuff is really bad. It's more like lifeless string than worms.

Last week it was so bad we actually threw £20 worth off bait away after struggling to get a few worms on a hook. With the price of a fisjing session around £20 these days ,I know I haven't got the money to throw away.

Just wondered if it was 2 cases of bad luck or has anyone else had the same experience???
Can't understand why you went back for a second batch?

Surely you should have taken the first batch back and asked for a refund!

I haven't bought large quantities of rag/lug for some time now, but I always tried Mcdermotts at Blyth first. If they didn't have any, next stop was Frazers now Lewis's at Whitley Bay, both shops never failed to produce the goods.

In any rate if a shop has worms that are dead they should bin them full stop, never mind ohh i'll chuck yer a couple of bags in for nowt. Their useless and will spoil yer sesh so you might as well not bother. IMO

                totally agree mate!
last couple of times the rag has been bloody awful
im going to billys from now on was in there today and a lady came in to
get some for her husband and the lad behind the counter went away and came back with the whole tray of worms and he picked and bagged them infront of her thats what you want quality
plus all the frozen baits are in a huge glass topped chest freezer infront
                of the counter all visible

the bait at sport and leisure in blyth is good, but if a can ,a go to anglers united in lynemouth, gary sorts the worms in front of you, excellent service.

Cannot for the life of me understand why a tackle shop would be prepared to sell p--s poor bait,as it's the most important product they sell.Generally speaking, the first thing people venture into these places for is bait, and what they get leaves an impression,if it's good stuff they'll tend to go back, and buy tackle from there too. It's a complete no brainer really,so i suppose some proprietors lack just that....a brain.

I possibly would have done but we were in eye mouth for the weekend and we weren't getting back till the sun night. It totally spoilt our weekend. We went back because in the past it has been ok, not great but, ok and thought it might have been a dodgy batch.

Once had to use reelsports in South Shields and when i got to my mark and opened it i found it was also good quality so would have no problems returning to there also.

This frazers sounds a canny shop, can anyone give me a address.

                        Cheers.

The trouble is with the farmed stuff it might be lively but it does not have the scent that wild worm does ,and as soon as it hits the water the tail falls off ,
and fresh must be hard to transport and keep in prime condition, dug in IRELAND stuck on ferry then on a train then to the tackle shop, not sure if these ferrys and trains keep them in a fridge
as for certain lads who have been fishing a short a while ID tackle has served the fishing community for many years and John bohill is a good angler and very helpful as all his staff are ,also as some said frasers is a very good tackle shop as well and reelsport
                            never used the others mentioned
so im sure if you looked at your bait before you left the tackle shop and it was in good condition (if not dont accept it)
it is up to the customer to keep it in good condition till fishing ,when out fishing if your bait in the sun it wont take long to turn, think of like it this ,if you go out in the sun with no cream on you get burnt

Your right mate if you don't look after the worms when u leave the shop they won't stay in good condition for long its like going to a supermarket for fresh food you wouldn't keep it in a hot car you put it in the fridge soon as you can, live bait is just the same it needs to be kept out of the sun & cool as possible
