    Hi all. New to this fishing but keen to learn. Just bought my first rod (beachcaster 12ft) an all starter gear.

    Hoping to go to south sheilds pier today so if any1 around please excuse my novice skills. lol.

    Any1 with tips an hints would be greatly appreicated.

    Welcome mate and you got to cast at least 60 yards are moe to get past the snags

      Welcome to nesa mate. any questions u have just post a thread and most lads will be happy to help u. Im gonna have a walk along the pier after me dinner so if i see u all tied up ill give u a hand to free yourself!! lol

          Welcome to the site m8 good bunch of people on here who will answer any questions you have. We all appreciate a catch report good or bad when you manage to get out, it's the next best thing for some of us who struggle to find time ourselves

            Welcome to nesa m8 and like Scotty says you need to cast out at least 60 to 80yds to clear snaggy points but the pier has got its good marks too so good luck to you.

              Two good spots Wich are pritty snag free iz as you go on pier thers a holl in the wall fish that sandy bottom are as you walk along pier at Mark 44 Wich Mark 44 is two numbers in yellow on tho floo on railing side Wich says 44 ther pritty snagg fre tray to avode the end as thers robs ect ther and being new got to have good cast hope it helps and your welcome to come fishing with me any time ;D and out a can help with just drop me an inbox happy fishing let us all no haw it went ;D

                Hi all and thank you to all the many friendly welcomes... :-D.
                Report... Didn t get the cast out that far maybe 30 yards. At best but do remember thats my first time. Didnt catch anything but my girl brought in a sneaky crab eating at our bait (mackeral). Sadly the crab still got away :-( (would of been our tea tonight)

                Really enjoyed it an looking forward to next trip out. Im hoping next weekend if anybody else is free????? Cheers
