  • Druridge bay beach

    Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if the beach is a high or low water mark?

    Thanks

    Ash

Simple answer is depends on which part of the beach your fishing. I know thats not very helpful but there are quite a few spots you can fish mate, either high or low.

My advice for Druridge, if you're after the flatties, is go an hour or so before Low water and stand as high on the dunes as you can. Spot an area where the water looks a bit deeper or where it will be deeper once the tide turns. Set up there and cast very short. Low water and the first few hours of the flood are good. But if there are plenty of fish about, any state of the tide can fish. High tide can fish well if you hit the gullies too. If you want codling, night time and a decent sea running is the key.

Ashley if your planning on fishing up there be very careful and watch out for the signs that the council have put up. There have been several areas of quick sand along the beach which you need to be careful of. Agree with Ross... Have a look at low water and fish a feature (gulley, sandbar etc )
