    hi i fancy wetting a line at blyth pier tomorrow. never fished before. any info on bates,tides etc would be much apreciated cheers lads
    2012 species: dogfish cod coalie mackeral launce pollock
    2013 species : cod dab coalfish flounder pouting granny fish Pollock mackerel launce eelpout sea bream wrasse

    hello mate i fish the pier quite regular i normally head to the end in the right hand corner. Owt bait wise should work at this time of year you will probz be looking at catching flats and coalies with the odd granny fish thrown in. I normally take rag and bluey I dont tend to take crab simply because i like to use crab on a session where a better stamp of fish is a possibility. Its something ive never worked out is when it fishes best as ive had good sessions on the flood and the ebb
    Nothing makes a fish bigger than ALMOST being caught

      thanks for the info mate much apreciated ive got some macky strip and runnydown to use so will see how it goes. after several blankson the tyne recently anything will do. probs take my usual beach set up and a lighter spinning rod for some sport hopefully a couple of flattys cheers

        good luck m8, you never know with the pier. al tel you 1 thing for sure m8, you stand a better chance with your line in the water.
        let us know how you got on m8.
