I work opposite the stadium of light on the wear and our car park backs on to the river. Often thought about having a chuck after work. Would there be anything to catch along there ?
Any tips about possible species and tactics would be much appreciated.

What bait would be best do you think mate ? Are the coalies any size ?
If its any help mate last weekend when fishing a flattie match on the wear (Glass Centre) there where a lot of coalies caught, and some very nice ones too, and they will steadily make there way upriver with the incoming tide, so I see no problems with you getting a few out (as long as they show up on the day )
Bait wise for coalies, you cannot go wrong with Mussell and crab, but rag, mackerel and bluey will also catch them and tempt just about everything else.
