Tell you the truth i thought all this rain would put
the fish off, as in too much fresh water.

The Wear can actualy fish better with fresh water in,its the colour it brings.
It really depends on the size of the tide.
Big tides push enough salt water upstream under the fresh to bring round fish up.
Neap tides are not as good.
It doesn,t bother the Flounders, matterless how much fresh is coming down.
The worst thing about a big flood like this is the rubbish it brings down, like the odd big tree and all the freshwater weed.
          This can make it unfishable.

Yes Stevie m8t plenty of small stuff flounders coalies and the odd small cod and with all this rain it does make the fish lie dormant in rivers okay.

I fished the Tyne last night and had one small flounder first cast then nothing for five hours. Last week I only had three undersize fish over a six hour session so not much doing in the river at the moment IMO Maybe it will pick up when all this rain stops.
