If you want mate ill come down with you, show you the general jist for beach fishing Good place to start would probably be king edwards bay tynemouth. Not complicated. Easy to read and understand.

Good idea would be to have a set of chesties, tripod too. Although not essential they to make life easier

tynemouth longsands has a few decent marks, you can fish bottom of the stairs which are at the end of beach towards cullercoats, this is a high water mark and chuck towards slatey gut which is a gulley towards the north end of beach where the rocks are. can fish the bathing pool aswell which is a high water mark or there is the stoney bottom which i am sure is 2 hours either side of low water, you cant miss stoney bottom its a few rocks in middle of beach that stick out.

any info on tynemouth contact Stores on here he fished it for years or could buy his book the codling crouch.

theres lots of marks at whitley beach which is best fished on a stonking sea at high water.

i prefer blyth beach for some reason just my personal preference.

when beach fishing its best on a dying sea maybe a day after a good onshore storm, a swell of 3ft - 6ft will do always look for the darker water as this indicates deep holes in the beach and this is where the fish will be feeding.

            hopes this helps.

Well m8t your best time to fish beaches is find an area where there are no rocks so you cannot snag up untill you get used to the idea of beach fishing as you have to be able to cast behind the breakers and i fish the tide up and an hour back okay

Haha, this is the reason i suggested king edwards, its quite sheltered, not too snaggy, and an easy beach to start out on.

If your after codlings then I wouldn't bother fishing the beaches till sept. Whitley, blyth and tynemouth are all better over LOW water.

Whitley demands a big sea running. Loads of marks on all 3 beaches but thats up to you to go out and find your fav.

Both whitley and tynemouth do have a few high water shots. As previously sed no point in beach fishing for cod until september.maybe for bass but still a bit early for bass at the minute specially with the cold spell we have at the min.
