Well i'm back from the deep south and inbetween the heavy showers i managed a session on Brighton Marina's west arm. The marina is somewhere i've fished on and off for over 30 years since the Palace Pier owners kicked anglers off in the 80s, up to i moved up here 7 years ago.
well after that build up......................I blanked not even a nibble. the old fella next to me had a couple of pout first cast then nowt. the two lads just up from us the cast feathers out nearly constantly for 5 hours managed a couple of mackeral, but am i sad? oh no!
i kitted mrs barty (my usual southern fishing buddy, barty junior couldn't be torn from the arms of his new girlfriend) up with my bass rod and a one up one down rig with lug and bluey and she managed a pout and a whiting and later on a sizable flounder, her first ever fish. The grin on her face said it all and although i don't think she'll be cramping my style too often she sees why i disapear every so often
