Maybe best to look deeper into what you have read so far, gets slated on WSF forum from a lot people who purchased them, as just another typical cheap made, poor quality materials, reel made in China.

John Holden gave it a good review it seems in SA,a legend in casting and shore fishing circles for 50years,but he makes a living from doing reviews. He is not going to bite the hand that feeds it,as in the manufacturer's.I was shown a couple of Tronixpro's 6500 reels last year won as table prizes at Brid open,Save your £60 look elsewhere best advice.

Not as good as old ones IMHO but still good, but I found small diameter line sometimes slid between spool and body, but still canny. I love those saltists but pricey still, but sometimes come up a good second hand buy.

picked a 525 mag slidey up tonight £50 just been serviced and ceramic bearings but boy is it running fast even with the mag full on it just keeps going
I will open it up and see whats going on as it feels like the mags not working as they should

Original USA 525Mags are all very fast, running correctly, but still controlable.Couple drops red rocket fuel or similar oil takes the edge off them on normal stainless bearings.Personally think putting clean ceramics in is a mistake be far too fast.
Want to speed one up and still have the useable advantage of the slidey mag brake, take a magnet out the carrier.Nice to see you got the right result in the end,a good choice solid reliable reel, used them since they first come out.
