hi lads, just getting into the sea fishing lark again after moving down south having to chase the dollar twenty years ago, havent picked up a rod in anger for along time, used to fish the hard ground around st abbs and eyemouth alot and am having a holiday soondiscovered by a fluke(a serious overrun) that the fish were at my feet, the magazines are full of stuff like pulley rigs, pennel rigs, and all kinds of fandango, when i fished up there you either got a fish or broken set of gear any advice on rigs and baits, used to fish with mussel and peeler when i could get it,but there seems to be alot more stuff on the market now(bluey, dirty squid etc)cheers the exiled geordie
sometimes i sits and thinks, but thinks better whilst sitting on a rock fishing

You could try a rotten bottem if fishing heavy kelpy gound or rocks marks. at least you only loose your weight.plain leads aswel use them.or you could just use a simple paternoster rig only need treble swivle and you trace line so even if you do lose themits not costing you a load every time you lose a rig.

Plus you wont need a clipped down rig as distance casting is not needed. use 50-60lb line on your
reel this will help when pulling out of snags.

      Hope this helps

Try using jelly worms thy work well different colours work better in different conditions.firetail jellyworms work well. nice slow and steady retrieve tho for pollock. its just finding the depths there at when fishing for them.you could float fish for them set your trace to the bottom then just move it up until you hit the fish m8.
