    hi a was thinking on collecting sum peeler will they be cuming up the river tyne as far as gateshead [blydon] as i have found some old tyres in the mud? nd how do i go on to collect them ?
    2012 species : codling, whitey, flounder, common sea-snail {liparis liparis}

    if you look all along the river you,ll find thousands of old tyres in the mud

      yeah probs wud but you may think they are abandoned but not or they havent been cleaned out yet and owned by someone

              Well I would advise you not to touch the tyres as they belong to dealers Dika .they are being watched at all times so be aware okay.

                If there's about 45 of them in two patches, one near the bank and one further out, they aren't abandoned.

                    There's a load of old abandoned tyres in hartlepool marina, I'm thinking of having a good rake thru these over the next few weeks

                      well had a walk down with the dog found 1 or 2 nowt t jump up nd doon about nd the tyres were abandent as aye had seen kids hoying them in bout 5 to 8 years ago gana keep checking so i now declaire them mine.

                        Nice one there Dika,I have a permit that allows me to collect crabs from anywhere along the shoreline/estuary/river banks doesn't matter whether there in an old bread bin,tyre or under a rock,I don't see how people can claim fly tipped rubbish to be there own,and even if they do claim them to be there's,surely they themselves would be admitting to that very offence(fly tipping),anyhow I've seen some tyres dumped in the river near me (hebburn),I'm going to have a look through them one day this week,see what's what ,and maybe claim them to be mine :-)

                          Redeye I live in Hebburn and I'll pop down the tyres with you. I could do with a few crab aswell mate. I also have my limited shellfish permit PM me.
