  • New rod for the summer?

Already have a 2-4oz bass rod and a selection of spinning rods, but what I\'m after is something that can cast 1-3oz a good distance and would be suitable for flattie bashing, heavy spinning and plugging, preferably with a stiffish action and be suitable for a small baitcasting multiplier?

    Cheers lads,
    Rob.

Have a look at the R.T. range Rob. There are a few different ones so you might find one that is comfy.
I gota R.T. last year and Tony has one that has a bit more strength to it.You thinking of taking up shore fishing like Rob lol.
Hope things are a bit better with the family now mate.

    Jim.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Lol Jim, yeah nursing wasn\'t a good hobby anyway! Apparently I don\'t have a good bedside manner when I\'m tying traces

I bought a RT Superior bass rod 2 years ago but find it a bit floppy unless its got about 3oz of lead on it, excellent distance with it though.
I think a decent model carp rod might be the way to go, but I\'m not sure which make or which test curve to go for?

The Tip Tornado Ultra Lite (12ft) is what I\'ve just got for that type of work and it is a blinding rod!
