Keep them wrapped in newspaper and change the paper if it gets soggy. Lug will keep for a couple of days like this and rag will keep for five or more days.

For Rag worm you can also keep them in seed trays with about 30 mm of Coral Sand with Sea Water just covering the sand - no air needed then. They need to be about 4-6°C so a fridge is essential.

For Lug same type of tray but no sand and just enough water to cover them. Change the water every two days or so. Harden them up by placing into newspaper 24 hrs before you are fishing. You will need to change the paper at least twice during this time.

For 5-7 hours stick em straight in the fridge when you get home from the tackle shop mate, they be fine I have never had a problem doing this. Remember to let the missus know so you don't get the silly screaming, or maybe she won't let you keep em in the fridge, in that case don't say owt if she screams when she finds them its her own fault.
