  • Penn Sea League cheat given top prize

    from another web site
    what do you think

dion mcfayden was still awarded the accolade as penn sea league champion and a prize of £1.500 worth of penn tackle, even though he was caught bang to rights a blatant cheating git,

how did he get to the point of being the top match angler in the country, well by being on top of his game you would have thought, but two big flounder in his bag ready to earn him some early points in the 2012 penn league should have been enough to strip him of all accolades, but no, he gets his prize, and all it says in the sea angler is (with no pic of him), mr mcfayden will not be invited to the upcoming penn sea league final.

alan, this kind of thing happens every day, you know that, this is why local comps are fished for generally small amounts, this is because prize money creates greed, greed creates cheets.

            cheat

Well Alan glad you have posted this article, It just go's to show were ever there is money involved you will find someone who will play dirty, it happens in club matches were the lads are playing for a few quid they are cheating there own mates, personally i've seen it happen when i was a member of Bedlington Buccaneers 13/14 years ago and the person was thrown out of the club then he joined another local club just to be found out again and got chucked out of that club What should be done about it? well for starters he should be made to give the money back then blacklisted from all clubs and matches that take place, its a sorry state of affairs when you have to cheat to make a name for yourself and in this case this guy has just done that, he is a loser in the long run and should be sent packing, what about the runner up he lost out coz he was cheated out of something that was his "The Winnings" just hope that his fishing buddy's send him to Coventry...rant over

Reading these posts only confirms that sadly "match fishing" is being corrupted by a few chancers out to make a name for themselves. Its amazing how many times you see two anglers fish together and ONE of them weigh's in a bucketful of fish....... while his mate blanks, seen it happen to many times for it to be coincidence.

Sea Angler should not have allowed this person to be afforded the Penn Sea League title, he should have been stripped of his points, the league has now been tainted by a guy who was caught out yet still be proclaimed the winner, this decision will anger many honest anglers and may well cost SA a lot of readers.

                          unbelieveable

                          Taken from the Thurrock Gazette......

Tilbury beach open attracts 56 anglers

SEA ANGLING: THE Tilbury Leukemia Beach Open attracted 56 anglers and 12 juniors, with whiting, codling and flounder making up most of the bags.

The winner of the £500 first prize was Romford angler Martin Moore with one cod, one whiting and two flounder weighing in at combined total of 4lb 11oz.
Moore also had the best fish of the day with a cod of 2lb 9oz.

Runner-up at the match was Benfleet angler Dion Macfayden with nine flounders for 4lb 5oz.

Dion’s son Marley also won the junior competition with five flounders for 1lb 5oz.

Been following this incident on a Kent website, whilst trying to pick up advice for Comp down that way. He was caught walking onto his peg with two flounder in his bucket prior to the start of a Comp. He was searched by a Steward as it had been SUSPECTED that he had been involved in Foul Play for a long time. He was instantly disqualified.
Days later, he claimed that the two fish involved were from a previous Comp, and forgotten about !!! He also claimed that if the Steward had examined them more closely, then it would have been discovered that the two fish had been gutted for the pan.
No mention of lie detector test.
THE OPINION DOWN SOUTH IS THAT HE CHEATED..AND HAS BEEN FOR A LONG TIME.

Surely you're not suggesting that people do this :

Forums such as this should be welcome for peoples opinions and a place for disscusion (Should be a mod me!). Be careful chaps not to go to far or you'll end up in the Sunday sun!

BTW I think If he was caught cheating he should have been stripped of that Penn Sea League Title.

I'm sure he fished for England as well?! It's a shame if he was genuine before this incident because he's just clouded everyones judgement over him as an angler. That's all it takes though. Sure he'll be asking himself was it really worth it?!
