  • Jig Heeds

    Thinking of getting a mold to make mesell some jig heeds for the spinning season - always used lures feathers or ready made ensembles, but never jellies, what size mold would ya's recommend and what size hooks? would be targetting bass, macky and coaly or anything else that wants ta jump on the end!

    Any help would be appreciated as I know nowt about this dark art!!!

      If your using jelly worms and its from shore mate lead heads are not nessasary just a good strong 3/0 or 4/0 sacuma on a nice long mono trace. Attach a snaplink on the end of your mainline and add a weight to this and the mono trace thread the worm on the hood. Works a dream and less faff on.

        Hmm i think i prefer the idea of having the weight at the heed - makes beter sense for casting (to me anyway). Back to original question - would a 40g heed n a 4/0 through it be the daddy? the the worm offered up to the heed dressed along the hook..

          i lyk yousing jigg heads if tide bit silly but part from that a 4/0 hook is just as good as you get lot moe movement on your bait

                  Far enough mate, it casts nicely, easy 100 yards with a 3 oz weight and a 3lb test carp rod (in my case)

                    howay man wheres the weight - you not explaining yoursell well. i take it attached to a 30lb shocker then the hook comes off it on a snood with the hook n work attached
