    You don't need tapered shockleaders.

    Big Spools of Powerflex, Ultima etc..Aren't that expensive and will last you a while.

    70lb will do everything you need. Heavier lines have less stretch than lighter lines therefore are good for power casting as it transfers the energy to the rod.

      just a thought if you have a 60lbs tapered shockleader, where is it 60lbs break and strain the thick end or the skinny end

          the only downside to that is, a tapered leader is not the B/S throughout the length of the leader, no way would i power cast using tapered leaders, accident waiting to happen in my opinion

            But it's the 60/70lb break strain that's casting out, so the good few turns of this on your spool should be enough for powerful casting. The thin tapered part will be nowhere near the cast.

              I use the bid 1 kilo spools from uk hooks for mainline and shocker it's a lot to lay out in one go but lasts forever and is quality line
