I see your point as I seen them yesterday putting nets out across Blyth beach but to be honest the fishing boats and thier skippers know these waters better than anyone and know when the conditions are right when to place the nets and where.
Let's just hope a few slip through the net so to speak !!

They pay alot of money in licence fees so let them put there nets where they want too.You can easily fish elsewhere!!!
The only fish i want this year is a double figured cod!!!

The only saving grace we have is the decent fish are only usually catching on the decent seas where the netters wouldn't have them out. When it flattens off there isn't as much codling about.

its been like that for years with fishing boats they put there nets out coz they can thats there job. my personal opion is that i dont think theyd have huge hauls so close to land so why bother but they must be doing ok or they wudnt bother puttting them there. its never botherd me like its just apart ov the whole sea fishing game

Spot on reply, they do it 24/7 for a living, hard way in some harsh conditions, think anglers can get paranoid about commercials and perhaps need to blame something...........Dave.

think the only species where people aint gonna say where they were caught would be bass mate, i know i wouldnt say on open forum but by PM i would

But in all fairness its always been like that and its just as easy to fissh another mark if the nets are out

Quite right the lads netting in boats are trying to earn a living, where we anglers are doing it for sport/pleasure.They are not getting rich but just scrape a living. The real culprits for the decline in fish stocks are the large commercial fleets of trawlers who clear the sea floor of anything in their path and throw back small dead fish or any fish over their quotas..Rant over!

Providing that they use the correct net size and distance from the shore .

What about the black market gill netters?? Any tom dick or harry in a boat can strewn a net a kilometer or more across some marks, completely ruining the marks and local fishing for a few quid. Its like a slalom corse for a fish to get in ranger for shore anglers!

People should beable to report their catches in confidence to other anglers to help them get their sport in this game.

So my issue is only with inconsiderate greedy individuals.
