I use a Dexter Wedge spinner and Float fished sand eels, you can also spin a Live or frozen sand eel on long flowing trace, approx four or five foot in length but you might have to experiment, use a three way swivel and link a small weight to it,2 or 3 oz should do it,a Carp or Bass rod should do the trick

Looking forward to trying this later this year. I\'ve tried using flounder spoons with weight added further up line and had problems with the spoons tangling with the main line on casting. Is that a problem you have to live with or am I doing something wrong? Was thinking of trying the rocks at Dunstanburgh Castle. Does that sound reasonable?
Colossus are you referring to Flounder fishing or Pollock fishing,if its Pollock fishing I\'ve never tried it that way,not saying it would\'nt work though,I\'ve tried using spoons for flattie fishing but i also found they tangled up alot
Thought that might cause confusion. I\'ve never tried fishing for pollock before using this method of a weight connected to a 3 way swivel with a long trace to an eel but I have tried fishing for flounder with a spoon and attached a weight above a swivel. I found that the spoon often tangled round the mainline and wondered if the same would happen with this method of pollock fishing. I realise that it is a tried and tested method so I wonder if I could have been doing something wrong. Sorry for confusion. You say you had same prob with spoons. Does it not happen the same using artificial eels?
lol m8,no I have\'nt had a problem, sometimes in a headwind it might tangle up but as a rule I\'ve never had a problem,could\'nt get the hang of the flounder spoons though alway came back in a tangled mess lol
