    can you catch them all year round,is lighthouse good spot to try,any other good local spots

    what lighthouse wud that be st marys ya can get them but more chance in the summer months ya do get the odd ones along shields and whitburn rock areas

    but a nah nowt

      you can get them from most rocky places or down the sides of some peirs, but.. in the warmer montghs.

      the further north you go, the bigger and more numerous they are.

      we get a few in hartlepool but only about 1/2lb down the sides of the pier.

      i have a friend who fishes from his boat, off the back of longscare rocks [hartlepool] and he gets loads of 4-5lb fish in the summer.

        do they go out to deeper water in the winter?thought they always stayed in one small area,

          when they move inshore in the warmer months they do become semi resident.

          might be an odd one where the waters really deep like say, eyemouth.

            Cullecoats mate straight off the end casting either to south crab hill or a 10yard lob will put u into fish as its deep water i had them late summer last year to 3lb

              in the summer theres normally a few caught up north,,,seahouses.beadnell.newton and craster...theres wrasse caught there very summer...want a flat sea.water clear and fresh crab or ragworm.
