WHOA, that\'s creepy Tony. I log on today for the first time in about 6 weeks and find a post asking where I am?

Combination of bad luck, family health problems and not wanting to depress anyone on there has kept me away from the site (and fishing )

Ah, what the hell, you\'re probably all wanting to know now!

    1. The PC goes on the blink. I\'ve got it limping along, but the old girl is bu**ered and on her last.
    2. Our lass (now 35 weeks pregnant) gets Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction and is now virtually housebound until the birth.
    3. The bairn had a tonsilectomy and is suffering big style (she\'s 15 and apparently the op is worse the older you get) plus the weekend I had to spend in the Royal Infirmary with her as our lass wasn\'t able to get there.

So, that\'s 2 invalids to look after, plus the son and the pets, shiftwork, PC on and off (mostly off) and no spare time to fish.....told you it was depressing!

So, if anyone has any remedies for tonsilectomy pain, SPD or knows of any good base unit deals at the minute.......

            Hallow Rob,

Sounds like you\'ve had a pretty hectic time of it of late.
Hope everything\'s OK with Mrs Adair.

I\'d go along with Ells\' theory on the ice cream.........Most docs seem to suggest ice cream to help take away the pain after having ya tonsils removed.

Really sorry to hear about that Rob. Nothing worse than the family being ill and not being able to do anything about it. Hang in mate it will get better. I\'m Looking forward to when things are right and getting back out there with you.
              Jim.

Aye hope all goes well with the new baby Rob. Has your doctor not precscribed or advised anything to give your daughter after the op to help her?

Thanks for the concern lads, it\'s most appreciated at the moment, believe me.

The ice cream didn\'t work, hot drinks and soup seemed to do the trick though. She was only prescribed paracetamol and ibuprofen in suspension (calpol basically) and that was like going cold turkey after 2 days on morphine (poor little sod). She\'s a lot better now though.

However, our lass is STILL waiting for an appointment to see the physiotherapist to have a support made. With only 27 days to go it looks like a waste of time now though (NHS )

Really looking forward to getting back out. Looks as though I\'ve missed the best of it though. Only 2 codling this year (both 1.5lb ) my worst ever year by far. Looks like my best chance of a doubler will be on the Sarah JFK in the summer, or better still, from the Whithorn area if I\'m really lucky (that big bass beckons )

Thanks for the PC advice as well lads. Never had a chance to get out and have a look around yet, but it seems to be settling back down to some kind of normality, so maybe soon.

                    Cheers, Rob.
