  • Blyth tomorrow?

Just looking for some advice, my day of work tomorrow so quite fancy getting out the house an enjoy abit of fishing. Im just looking for abit of easy fishing not expecting much just a relaxing session, i'm in the Alnwick area and been out a few times this winter braving the harsh weather around the rocks of howick and craster area looking for those cod but no luck. So anything would be nice, a few whities would keep me happy. So I thought blyth harbour area is a good place to chill, so my question is does it fish well over low tide? If not, can anyone suggest somewhere else? Thanks in advance
    "Im going fishing tonight"
    "Are you mad?!"
    "I must be"

if ur wanting to fish the harbour ur better off fishing over high water mate...blyth pier would probs be a better shot like...bit of a walk n that like and no sitting in the car...but probs be better than the harbour as it dosnt really fish very well.

Hi why not go have a chuck at craster harbour it's a lot closer to you and you might pickup a nice plump red cod.But remember it is quite snaggy so go equipped to cope.

Blyth harbour is a funny place to fish m8 , no two days the same , plenty tings when its fishing and a few flattys showing but can be a blanker , plenty of small fishes over low and ive had some nice tings as well , mid floods been fishing well for me lately , the advantage of fishing the docks is you can fish from your car , rag/lug/maccy and prawn all fishing well (when the fish are feeding) theres a nice cafe in the lifeboat station and another just up near the kings head pub , you can fish anywhere along the docks front but if your in a car try and get a place near were the concrete meets the wooden part , its not the best fishing place in the world but nice easy fishing for sure and theres allways a chance of a biggun turning up

Just thought I'd clarify that you can't actually fish in the docks, thats the area on your left as you head for the Blyth wooden pier. You can of coarse fish further up the river straight east of the town on the concrete or wooden staiths. Expect, flounders, whiting, codling, etc: worm baits, mackerel, and crab will all catch fish, hook size 1-2o's.
Let us know how you get on.
          P.B. Cod 30lb-11ozs Balcary.

Have you tried the peir at amble mate, where the concrete meets the wood? From what i remember its a canny mark for Tings, Coalies (Ive had em upwards of 2lb) and codling (3lb+). Nice easy fishing and its not to bad to get there either Closer than blyth
            Cod Mission: Cod over 5lb!

            Success: 27/09/12

            PB COD!!!: 9lb 13OZ!

Chance of Success?: Dismal, But possible!
