  • Fish breaching!

Hi all, fishing off the rocks near Bamburgh this evening and saw good sized silver fish breaching clean out of the water vertically! I cast to the spot and instantly one hit my lure but lost it about 5 seconds later!

So what is it likely to be up here? My first thoughts were Bass but what else could it be? I'm a southerner so only get to fish up here once a year when on holiday.

    All advice is appreciated!

    Jim

Funny you should say that, I did think sea-trout when I saw the first couple. I'm off back out again tomorrow, will have a bottom bait out too to see if I can pick up flatties!

        Cheers guys,

Usually, if the come vertical out of the water they are Seatrout.
Salmon tend to come out at an angle on to there sides, like a whale breaching.
Theres loads around the piers at the minute as they are waiting for water in the rivers.

I think I've heard them splashing in December at about 2am near Roker pier, would they also be Sea Trout ?
