The site........
\"company\"......????????
Actually, you\'ve provided the ideal opportunity for me to let all the more recently registered members know what NESA is about...........
North East Sea Angling, NESA), is an internet based angling \"club\" which came into being approximately 10 years ago and was the brainchild of John Bridges (known as Jaybee, throughout the angling world).Shortly after a change of site ownership, Jaybee decided to call it a day as far as looking after NESA was concerned, and asked me if I\'d take over the reigns - big boots to fill, but I said I\'d give it a go.......that was 5 years ago.......and I\'m still here.
Whilst, as the name suggests, the membership is largely comprised of anglers from the N.E. area, we do have many members from all over the country and a few from overseas, too.
Primarily, the aim of the site is to provide a forum for like minded anglers who not only have a passion for fishing, but who are also concerned about the wider issues affecting our sport, such as conservation and the marine / coastal environment.
Many NESA members have forged strong friendships over the years and there are countless stories of people meeting up just to fish together (and put a \"person\" to the \"name\" on the site).
Invariably, when we hear about \"the internet\" and \"websites\"on the news and in the press, it\'s about the darker, seemier side and more about internet mis-use, than use.
However, there is another side to \"the net\", the good side - and NESA falls into THAT category.
About 3 years ago, It was decided that NESA would \"adopt\" the RNLI as its chosen charity and would raise funds through organised events as well as individual donations.
To date, we have held five fund raising competitions;
Three shore competitions held from South Shields and Whitley Bay, with the proceeds going to the RNLIs central funds, and two large boat fishing competitions;
The first of which took place out of Amble, Northumberland and was aimed at raising money for the Amble RNLI Station.
Last years event was held out of the Tyne in May 2004 and its\' aim was to raise money for Cullercoats RNLI Station.
Preparations are underway for this years boat comp.
As a result, NESA has raised £5000 for the RNLI, of which, over £3000 has gone directly to North East based Lifeboat Stations.
It is anticipated that both the shore and the boat competitions will continue as annual events for many years to come and so continue to help provide vital resources for the RNLI, both nationally and on a more local basis.

Nice one Tony. I personally have \"met up\" with a hell of a lot of NESA members since I joined and met some great people. I still meet up to fish with all of the people I have met when circumstances allow and would like to say that I have made some great mates through this site.
Jim.Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Late 1992/early 1993 when I started to build it.
It got a rebuild two days after I put it online simply because a visitor had problems with the (then) framed site. What we used to do to keep people happy
