depends on what strength line and size weight your using if there are people around when casting its always best to use a shock leader. 10lb for every ounce of weight your casting.

Sent y a PM mate. Been playin with one of these for weeks, belongin to the ghost, on a diawa 16ft thing, nee finger protection if you hold the reel properly. 30lb braid 50lb braid shock leader, set the canon up, flick the diawa, an it absolutely launches it, safe as houses.
Mind is you get snagged you need a bit wood to get it off or y will defo lose a digit.
Couldn't reccomend them enough for the braid like
When God made time he made loads of it.
        Diffrent strokes for diffrent folks

yeah mate, already do,i use 6oz lead with 60lb trace body line instead of shockleader, does the trick, never had problem, just was wondering if 30lb mainline would take pressure of cast with cannon

Not being funny mate but you defo need to add a 60lb leader if your chucking 6oz leads, and that's on top of the 60lb rig body you're already using or you're sure to crack off sometime.
