    Any of you had much success digging white rag around these parts?? I got a few today thought they were hard to get these days and also got some decent lug...and a bucket full of mussles if anyone needs any

      have half dozen whites ,few lug and mussle its ok collection mussle but its the shelling that needs a bit of time and patients

        I meant the mussle haha, yeah the shelling is a nightmare, the tackle shops must quickly blanch them in hot water to get them that little bit firm, I shelled 2 bags worth and does'nt look like my bucket is any emptier lol

          I cant speak for every tackle shop round here but i do know for a fact that rutherfords,both reelsports shops, lewises,fihing republic and id fishin DO NOT blanch their mussels

            no need to blanch it this time of year well stuff i have collected are firm enough and nice and yellow sometimes leaving it to stand a few hours or over night in the fridge or somewhere cold will firm it up

            straight out the shell without having to blanch it
