cheap fixed spool reels .... are these any good?

i cant see these cheaper anywhere else, it seems like a bargain.

has anyone ever used one of these, what are they like for beach and peir?, any other info on them.

ive had the tidewater xd how do these compare to this, what are the differences?

Not sure about the reels mentioned mate but as a rule you get what you pay for. I bought the shakespeare zeta 50 reel for spinning last year, that was cheap and it was great for about 8 sessions then the 9th session the handle seemed funny and the tenth session the reel came apart reeling in a mackerel lol.

I would say you be better off investing in a Diawa or shimano FS reel in the 50-60 quid bracket.

hi mate i had a cheap shakespeare reel sim to yours and as soon as you get any weight on the end of them thats when probs start as with having only one or two ballbearings in them they cant cope me personaly wouldnt buy fixed spool unless it has 4 ballbearings at least to run on
i have a leeder assissin reel with 8 ballbearings cost £50 and a tf ggear delta 8000 with 11 ballbearings in cost £50 and compared to the cheap ones they are so smooth on retrieve and cast much better than cheapies its like every thing else you get what you pay for.
i have now progressed onto multiplier penn 525 gs mag i use it with brakes fully on and i get about 35% more distance than with fxd spool and no nests as mag brakes help prevent this

Lol and dont buy a fladden warbird either... had one it lasted 1 pollack session and on the second the spool flew off Atm i use a carp reel, a shimano 4000 series. runs as smooth as silk and its lovely with braid

As said above you get what you pay for, a general rule of thumb for a deacent spinning fixed spool i would choose either shimano or Penn. And dont buy a 4000 jarvis walker if using braided line, it gets caught in the runner on the bailarm and goes behind and slices it when you hook into a fish.

i use a penn surfmaster 750/and 850 they are a cracking reel had no bother with them ive also use a daiwa opus 6000 plus also a cracking reel u can pick them up on ebay for about 37 quid and about 55 for the penns good luck mate

just cut out the middle man mate and throw your 12quid in the bin! If you buy a quality reel from the start it will save you money in the future!

Yes they are not the same quality as say a new okuma 70pound reel but they are good..

They do handle weight from my experience..

I think these reels are absolutly fantastic for that price
