  • Conoflex Nemisis Problem, need advice!

Hello all, I'm hoping that someone has a trick up their sleeve that will help me pull my rod apart. I fished with it on Sunday night and then could not seperate the two sections. Any advice would be most welcome. Cheers in advance.

I had the butt section in the front passenger knee well and top section sticking out of the rear side window. It's stuck solid Trev.

try taking the butt cap off, put some frozen peas or something like that over the joint fora few mins, then try to seperate, if that fails, get someone to take hold of 1 end as you hold the other, both of yous twist the rod in opposite directions and pull at the same time, hope you get it seperated mate

Frozen peas :S Wont that make the joint contract even further for a tighter fit? Or does it contract the inside but not the out?

And ive seen allot of this happening lately, mainly with komp's :/

I have already tried frozen peas on the inner part of the joint sleeve to contract it and hot on the outer part to expand it. I did these two in conjunction with each other and wore rubber gloves for extra grip to pull it apart but still had no joy. It looks like I will need help from another adult to double the amount of pressure when pulling it apart.

i know this sounds a bit daft but hold the rod about 2ft up from the joint with two hands and at an angle bounce and rotate the rod on a carpeted floor make sure you leave the butt cap on as though you were drumming with it not to hard as to break the rod just enough o try and get the joint to wobble and loosen a bit then you and your mate should be able to pull apart.done this a few times now especially with reducers stuck in.

It happens to mine all the time, if i dont candle wax it every 5 or 6 trips. Taking the but capp off helps but it usually takes 2 of us to seperate it. Just twist and pull in opposite directions.

Thanks for all the advice lads, I managed to get it apart with the help of Biff, (Jimmy Brooks) rubber gloves for extra grip and brute force. By gripping either side of the joint sleeve we pulled and twisted it, and it came apart on the second attempt.
