The Pier fishes well at high water in a Northerly but be careful it\'s not too big as there can be some canny breakers come over the end. You want to be aiming for Dunstanburgh castle as you cast out. Alternatively all the way along from the Lime Kilns at low water is a good shot as well as Knacker hole. Follow the tide back as it goes out and walk along the skeers casting into the hole.
"And I looked, and behold'a pale horse; and his name that sat on him was death, and hell followed with hi, and power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword and with hunger, and with the beasts of the earth"

be careful on knackers cos the surges can be massive if its from the north.
