  • lots of good cod coming in on s.shields pier !

    south shields pier is fishing good this afternoon, plenty quality cod about, just seen one weighed at 14lb 8oz, there was about 20 quality cod on the pier. the 14lber came of the wheel.
    a very big fish was apparently caught out the wherry last night (26lb)

    i might give that a shot tomorow is it safe to fish the pier in rough weather

        i think the lad who caught the 14lb8oz fish was called gibson, didn\'t catch his first name, andy rutherford weighed the fish so you should be able to get his name off him. i know the fish was caught on blow lug, apart from that fish he had had a good bag. he said plenty nice fish coming in.
        details of the 26lber are still sketchy but as far as i know it is genuine, been told off two seperate people should find out more on the jungle grapevine soon hopefully.

                a pal of mine Rob Crane had one 6,1/2lb on sunday from the pier and he also saw a few more come of

                    it was 27lb+ and that was the day after being hauled in ,and Terry Woods weighed it - so it might well have been in the 28lb bracket when first caught - Well done to that man - Cracking fish
